Drive and Manoeuvre a Trailer is designed to enhance your on road and off road towing skills. There is nothing as frustrating as not being able to reverse park your horse float, trailer, off road camper or caravan. However this is, at worst, embarrassing. What is more serious is an inability to read the terrain or prepare your vehicle for the change in surface or approaching corner. This Towing Safely Course can now offer you a great deal of useful information and tips that will get you on the right track for safe towing, on road and off road. This Towing Safely Course covers easy to learn techniques, which is designed from extensive experience in all types of situations involving the full range of trailers. Including caravan, camper van, camper trailer, boat and horse floats. The course addresses the general principals applied to towing including loading, coupling and uncoupling, safety checks and will ensure that your driving will suit the conditions and the terrain. It will cover emergency situations such as a tyre blow out, brake failure, swaying or mechanical failure with your trailer, coupling up and reversing safely and efficiently. Description: Safe Towing covers the competence required to drive and manoeuvre trailer(s). The course includes identification and confirmation of work requirement, preparation for towing, safe towing techniques, manoeuvring and reverse parking of trailer(s), coupling and uncoupling trailer(s), emergency situations Teaching Elements Practical The day consists of a variety of sections designed to cover all areas of trailer use in off road and on road situations. Drive and Manoeuvre a Trailer Safely offers instruction and practical demonstrations to acquire additional skills and a greater appreciation of the capabilities of your vehicle for safe and effective towing, better preparing you for towing safely. What happens on the day? (meeting times subject to change on request) Approximately 45 minutes of theory in the morning, then the rest of the time is practical “hands on” with a gradual increase in degree of difficulty, as the day progresses. What do I need to bring? Meals: Bring along a morning tea, light lunch (a sandwich is ideal) and adequate drinking water.
